My peaceful songs

I have to admit that I am a pop opera fan and these next songs although I do not understand a word take me to places of relaxation and peace.

We are so proud of him and hope to enjoy many future games with family and friends as we watch him go after his dreams. WAY TO GO CALEB!!!!

COUPON CLASS

Please visit my other blog littlecabinsavings.wordpress.com for information about the class

Thank You Robert

I have known Robert since I was 14 and he was 16 and have had the privilege of being his wife since I was 17yo almost 28 years married. I have seen him walk through all kinds of pain and loss.Years of unspeakable abuse and alcoholic parents and step parents, fighting and struggling to survive even as a teenager never catching a break. The loss of 4 unborn children. Ministry struggles, with the weight of friends that turn their back when you need them the most, the heartache of caring for a mother dying an agonizing death from ALS.The worse is surely this last loss of a father that died without Christ. This has such a palpable finality with the loss of hope that things would change and that his father would want to know him and love him or that he will ever see him again. I am always encouraged to love God more and deeper as I watch him respond to each of these losses. I pray that the suffering would be lighter but I know that God has a reason for all that he brings in our lives. His heart is truly heavy but he has always had a real sense of Gods presence in his life and our need to understand that our suffering is only for a short time and then we will be with Jesus and tears will be wiped away. I know that the last song I have below is one that gives me strength through difficult times because of how Robert used it in my life. When we lost one of our babies he laid next to me and held me so tight and started to lead me in singing this song to the Lord through our tears. I will hope to respond to suffering differently for ever thanks to this wonderful act of godliness and hope in times of despair.Thank you Robert for leading me to praise God in the midst of suffering and pain. May God grant me the ability to soothe your suffering and may we keep praising God together through life's difficulties and through the kinds of suffering that you speak of in the following sermon.

PAIN...HOPE

I have such sad news to pass along. We found out today that Roberts dad passed away Monday. We are so sad to have never had the opportunity to love him in person the way we wanted. As we have sought to find comfort for our grieving hearts we have been comforted by scripture. 1Thes.4:13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Although we must grieve Roberts dad not having hope of seeing him again. We are comforted by hope in Christ and a Just and Sovereign God. Some view verse 13 as a reason we should not mourn at all but I do believe that is wrong. We are mourning with deep sadness and loss that is hard to explain. The tears are flowing and at times are without control but non the less we have hope. I am including the following videos which may seem like strange ones to bring comfort at this time. I am reminded at this time of death that we all deserve to die with no hope and that my sin is ugly and separates me from God. All I have to do is read the ten commandments to see my failings. But...my sin has been forgiven because of the work of Christ on the cross. Please focus on the words in these videos. I hesitated to even post them since they are scenes from the passion of Christ movie. I do feel the intention of the writer and the controversy surrounding this movies release at the time put way to much focus on the role of the Jews in Christs crusifiction and I don't believe that is where the focus should be. Instead it should be on me...my sin is what held him there and my sin is why he died. I am so thankful to Him for the comfort that he brings to us at these times and the assurance that when I die I know I will be with Him in heaven not because I lived good but because He lived perfectly and is my spotless lamb that was sacrificed on my behalf and that brings me eternal hope. Please pray for Robert as we have to make some very hard decisions in the next couple of days.Pray for wisdom and for Gods comforting to be felt in the hearts of Robert...Lauren... and David jr.

PEACE!

The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes
Proverbs 21:1

No matter how we vote as individuals or a nation God is Sovereign and he is the one who controls Kings.

For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Romans 13:1

Isn't it great that we can rest our heads on our pillows tonight without even knowing for sure who won the election with peace in our hearts that God is always in control! I find this fact so comforting. God was so good to us to demonstrate these truths throughout the old testament as he appointed rulers both good and bad for His purposes and for His Glory. Praise God for His kingdom is forever. I am reminded of the words of the great hymn of the reformation entitled "a mighty fortress is our God" written by Martin Luther 500 hundred years ago. The following video is an old one of Steve Green singing this great hymn as only he can.
